I had posted a similar shot w/o the kite boarders a few weeks ago.
These Bluffs are North of Davenport, CA (think near Santa Cruz)

This was a 6x7 MF Proivia shot. Finding that Astia & Proivia have more lattitude than I thought.
Nicer to work with than negatives, although I still like Ektar for best color/range
Can't wait til I get some 4x5 slides back after my Easter Sierra trip, which is where I am now
I think a ND grad for the sky area above the clouds would have helped, the sky is blown up there. The composition feels a bit too heavy to the right for me, the cliffs end up going all the way to the halfway part fo the shot and makes it feel crowded in there to me. Having a little less cliffs would be great I think. And one last thought, I was thinking this was called Kite Surfing, not Kite Boarding, but I could be wrong.

I have some Cokin , but got rid of them & just started a Lee collection.

I may try to save it with a slightly different scan and double process the TIFF.
Too heavy? I plan on returning and get more over to the west which gives a more spread out view of the bluffs.
Yeah, I think you have too much cliff in this, crop halfway from the right edge to the people (losing that little lump on top of the cliff) and see what this looks right.
As for double processing... if you are blowing the sky with film.... it's going to stay blown even if you triple process it.... Using a grad is really important for you with film.
Jim, my point about the re-scan is that I may have scanned/processed it too bright.
Presently scanner is in another room/PC. It has happened before with the scan software.
