Another try at my portraits. This time trying to focus attention in the person at the front with her friend slightly out of focus. (I featured her friend in another shot).

The OOF subject is taking too much attention still. The framing and position makes it seem like they both should be in focus.

"Portrait" is not the first thing I think of looking at this. The lighting looks great, but the composition is complete fail imo.

I know you want to feature the girl in the foreground, but you've included the girl in the background. Either crop her out, or don't compose a featured person with noticeable people in the frame. The problem for me is that the very lovely girl in the background is distracting because she's framed to be in the picture, but is out of focus.

You guys have a good point there, I should have probably took another shot with just one of them in the frame... :-).

Oh well, just trying new things to see what works and what doesn't, the only way to learn :-) ..
I appreciate your input ....

Yes, keep trying new things. That's the thing to do.

One option is to show only part of the girl in the background. Personally, I'd go for one girl only, but since you are in the experimental mood.....
