This GBH slowly walked into the "frame" ... plenty of time to get the exposure right.
But now his eye is kind of shadowed.
Some day I will get it all together.

Very nice Paul ! Cropping is a matter of personal taste, but I would crop more off the bottom, probably to just a little bit below the reflection of his head. To my eye that brings the focus to the that natural frame and the bird.

Thanks Birdie:
And ok ... I will go along with cropping more off the bottom ...

yes, it is tilted. Agree with a bit of a pano crop.
Curious - why f/14? On my 5D I would still try for a lower iso (or if iso is 100, you can increase shutter speed) if conditions permit.
I agree with the crop suggestions and the tilt It takes a lot for it all to fall together Paul, I think the eye looks fine for a longer shot like this. You saw the potential for framing and took advantage of that, well done
I'm right down the road from you in Elgin. Nice image! Try the Carpenter Dam in Dundee - it's right off 31 north of Spring Hill Mall. Great place to shoot Herons, Egrets, Kingfishers etc.
