Both work for me Greg, with #1 being very effective IMO. Very nice images.

Like them both, Greg. The second background is nice and subtle, but I think it adds a good touch to the overall effect.

I would say the first gets my vote. Now this will make you crazy, it isn't my kind of treatment but I think it works well if that is the look you are looking for. No I'm not crazy

You aren't crazy, I'm just tossing some ideas around, and these are a first try. The idea is to separate the flower from the textured background, which isn't quite what I have here, but I'm still learning!

A nice pair, Greg.
I like the first better as an image,
And the second as a colorful flower.
IMO it's hard for a white flower to really look beautiful.
