That is a cool area with all that moss covered rocks there. Especially that large flat area of green in #1 is cool. But 2 thoughts on both.
1st off the speckled light is not helping these shots, the eye is drawn to the light, it's a saying, but it's true So in #1 the eye is drawn to the right of the waterfall to some plain rocks because they are lit. In #2, the eye is drawn to the lower right corner because of the light. So shooting this area at a time or on a day when there is no direct light will really help.
2nd, the compositions both seem unlbalanced a bit. It's almost like you were forecing the foreground too much because it's cool looking and the scene does not flow naturally to the waterfall in the back. Now some of that may be due to the light in the shot, because that kind of spotlighting can really unbalance a shot visually.
