p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Couple more of Jamie

Still have a lot of things to get better at, but my wife, the hair stylist, and Jamie herself seem pretty happy with these. I guess it comes down to the critical eye, and the fact that I can nit-pik myself to the point of wanting to completely give up

Anyway, that is why I post here, to get other's insight. So if you've got some nits to share, I will be grateful to get them!

Set up info: 22" beauty dish at 45º, fill light camera left at 1/2 the power of the key light, and anther strobe on the white seamless....

Hey Greg,

I think all 3 are good, #1 and 3 are my favorites. I don't care for tatoo's, but you worked her tatoo's into the composition nicely. And for me, great work on the lighting. It sure sounds complicated, but you nailed it I would say!

Thanks CW and Jim.

Yeah, I get what you mean about the tattoo Jim, I'm personally not that into them, but I do appreciate the artwork involved and the individualism they represent, especially when there is an emotion connection for the person wearing them. Anyway, I appreciate the kind words, and seriously, the lighting set up isn't complicated. A light meter and a gray card make it relatively simple. Honestly, I didn't want to shoot on white like this, I was leaning towards more of a charcoal backdrop with some texture, which I thought would better contrast her red hair, but this is what my wife wanted for her purposes.....she had pulled some images out of a magazine and said "like this." I mentioned to her that those images were shot by an expert, and I am a couple of days away from reaching that level but she insisted. The posing is the most complicated part for me.....
