what steps are you taking to resize your images... you seem to be getting some funky compression that makes the whole image just slightly fuzzy...

Few things - make sure you are using a professional MUA when shooting this style of image (the glossy hotspots on her forehead/top of nose look like not proper work done there - a little airbrushing will help that out)...stray hairs all over the place, have to clone those (paint a mask with around a .5 feather to give quick but reasonably realistic results)...as mentioned compression looks strange too, like a lower quality jpg or something?

Save for web or sometimes use the export in LR. i haven't been applying sharpening as the raw/Tiff files are very sharp..i guess i should for the web jpegs

Updated it with sharpening.

The MUA was pro i think..haven't worked with her before. I left the hair as is to give a more homey feeling. but yes i can do some more cleanup of the stray threads and some hair around the ears. I'm totally new to "people" processing and just recently..well used the FS (with dust scratches) technique on her. It did clean up the skin well.
I did have an issue with hot spots on the forehead and nose and it made a good candidate for trying out processing. I'm not familiar with paint a mask with .5 for cloning out hair, please explain..or point to a tutorial if you have the time.

Just sharpened it and replaced the original.

I can send you a raw file and if you'd like to try and let me know what you did.

Thanks!

For me, the crop is an issue here. Two cut off elbows. You almost have to go square to accommodate the arms and the neckline.

I like the shot. It feels good and seems like a good one for the makeup lady's portfolio.

Do you think it might help with a slight rim/hair light in the image upper left to get a hint of glow on the hair ?

Hi Tony,
I think additional light would've definitly help, but we were going with 1 light ..lets see what we get thing. for the next session i definitely want to have 1 or 2 lights blowing up the background and one rim light. That'll come as i learn more lights and get comfortable.

Thank you for the input.
