It actually is clouds, but when one is up in the clouds, they no longer feel like clouds as they envelope you, but they do take on a mist like quality.
These both are a few more from a month ago up at Mt Rainier NP. I was racing the clouds in these shots, I could see where the clouds wanted to cover and hide Mt Rainier from view, so I was racing it up the trails at Paradise trying to beat them. Just short of where I wanted to shoot from, a location I had picked out earlier in the day, as the clouds rose higher and the sun set lower, the clouds began to turn gold. The whole area was bathed in this beautiful light.
I didn't want to chance losing that golden light to continue on up to my picked out location, even though it was only a few hundred yards more up the trail, I stopped in my tracks and found a composition with a nice pathway through the wildflowers. I took a few shots here, then moved up another 50 feet or so to another composition with flowers in the foreground. And almost as quickly as it came, the golden mist disappeared... it lasted 3, maybe 4 minutes max. I am glad I was there.
Both are here, and all comments are welcome.
