Gorgeous model and I really like the concept of what you're doing. The end results may have been exactly what you're going for, and if so, please ignore any critique from me.

I can't really figure out what I don't like about this, other than the lighting comes across so contrasty. First shot, for example, it seems like a like directly in front of her face, is blowing her out. I can see the shadows behind her arms, but then I look in her eyes and I don't see catchlights. Her face seems so white but her hair so dark.

Next shot, same thing, skin just seems blown out. You can see a shadow from her hair on her chest next to her tanktop... but then no shadow really from her nose. That doesn't make sense. There's just no texture to her face. Same with 4.

I'd be interested to know more about your lighting or processing that created this look, and whether this was what you were going for.

I'm with Ron here,
The processing is killing these.

3rd shot is nearly perfect, a stunning pose but she's getting lost in the background, it reminds me of a shot Francois used to post of his lovely model Ziggy

Would love to see more from her.

Regards
Bud

Hey Friscoron, How to say this? I'm still kind of new to the whole P.S. thing and had to remove a TONE of acne. In the process i'm sure I took away to many details? Thank you very much for your critique! That's why I'm here.

You definitely hit the jackpot with the model. But as was already mentioned something is being lost in the translation here. Maybe post one of your out-of-camera shots for some input on how to improve your in-camera photography? I will say some of the compositions are busy/distracting. For instance, the dragonfly wall art doesn't add anything to the shot. Likewise, the leaves on her head in the first one and the foreground wooden thing on the right in the last photo are a bit distracting. That said, you have a good eye. Just need to hone it a bit.

I hear you about the acne, that's always a challenge. But I'm talking about tonal qualities here that have nothing to do with the processing fixes of acne. The brightness of her skin is on her arm as well as her face, that's what I'm talking about.

Do this only if you want to, but post a SOOC (straight out of the camera) shot of either 1 or 2 or 4, and see what some of us come up with, using our own processing techniques. I think these shots have real potential, and advice from FM members have often taken me down a processing direction I hadn't previously considered, but helped make my pictures turn out much better than my original processing.

I would say 3 is about perfect, but would just shoot it straight b/w and have moved the stack of painful looking firewood from below her.

I think you are about one (1) stop over-exposed which is why you're losing definition/detail in the skin tones. Here's my take (you didn't link to a full size image so I just pulled the picture from above):

3 and 5 are awesome. I like the firewood as is, since she is sitting in front of a fireplace.

I see the difference for sure! I gave it another go with a different pic. Tried to take it easy this time.

Nothing I can add that wasn't already said about the photographs (#5 is the winner for me), but I have to say, my, my, my. Your model is simply gorgeous.
