Hi matthew, thanks for the follow. Ummm different season different scene, i would suggest going during autumn. Great foliage, very settled weather. Good snow cover on the peaks but not winterlike, may 1-15.

Thanks for the info! Was hoping to catch some glacial ice still floating around the lakes, would there be any around that time? Not sure how it is up there in the NZ mountain ranges. Also it seems most of your shots are 30 seconds, yet most of the ice seems to be sharp still. How'd you manage that? Is the ice not really moving? Every time I've tried that at a lake with floating ice it's always moving to much and turns blurry. Wondering if there's some kind of trick I'm missing.

Matthew i pull the ice into a spot that is stable the tasman lake was very still when i visited. Glacier ice it depends. Its really day to day. Thanks gordon

Great set Christian. I really like your Lake Tekapo images. I am heading back there for a fifth time in November and hope to catch the Lupins in bloom. I hope to get something half as good as yours to show!

I swear I already commented here....Anyways, great set! For some reason all I see is Iceland when looking at these shots. Icebergs are the last thing I would expect to see from New Zealand, going by my limited knowledge of the country. I like 1, 2 and 5 best.

Thanks all, its been 5 days in iceland bad weather, some great aurora but through thick cloud which i dont even bother to shoot. Some good sun forecasted for my last couple of days but wind will hit 40/50 meters per second so we screwed. Should have extended my stay in NZ. Looks like i might have to go to iceland next yr again. Starting to hate aurora hunting... Lol!

Bummer! I'm heading to Iceland July next year, hope I have better luck lol. Still LOVING this set.
