Hi, I like your image. The composition is quite good. I might have moved a bit more to the left to show a bit more of the entrance of the cove. But then there is a tree that will start to show since one has to use a wide angle lens for this composition. The brushes and flowers (he ones that are left) are in peak shape more during may. I went in early june and the vegetation was drying up. I see you "photoshopped" a lot of flowers in to fill the dead spaces.
I like your last take on it. It has a wee bit too much contrast in some parts but it is getting there. Glad your are taking in the suggestions and trying stuff out. It all comes down to taste and there is no really one perfect solution. But, this is location is photographed extensively so a lot of us know it very well. The light conditions were as good as they get in the summer so you got it good.
