p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Frigatebirds in flight

Hi,

the first pic was taken from the upper deck of a moving catamaran. The bird didn't flap it wings although it followed us for ten minutes. The other pics have been taken from an island. The last one is my favorite although the bird is too centered. I cannot tell if these are Maginificent or Great Frigatebirds.

Black birds on a bright sky are a nightmare most often especially with light from above. I took a few moments on your favorite to tinker...........will remove it later. #1 is a nice work up
Curves to bring up the darks to a comfort level and a bit of overall brightening as it seemed a bit underexposed overall.

Added some canvas too, easy to do on an image like this and it allows you to re-crop as desired

Big birds and not friendly to other birds if I remember correctly, likes to steal young ones.

Must have been cool to have that bird sailing along overhead!

This bird is on my wish list You did good on these, Phildan.
Hard to ID! Especially in flight it is very difficult to distinguish the Magnificent Frigatebird from the Great one.
I believe these were not shot in Canada

What! But of course, I took these pics in my backyard. Well actually, they were taken in the Galápagos Island. I went on vacations in Ecuador and of course, you just cannot go over there without visiting these islands. It is actually almost disturbing to see these animals, birds included, behaving in such a strange manner. They just ignore you. They don't run or fly away.

Thanks.

Thanks mallard.

I live in a development where all the streets bear names of birds (in french) . And there is a mallard street very close to my mine. I guess the developer was an amateur ornithologist.
