This is from a couple weeks back. There was this thin cloud hanging around the mountain. After the sunset, the moon, clouds and the mountain were all in harmony. Blend of two shots, one exposed for the scene and the other for the moon.
A very nice image of Mt St Helens, but the moon looks quite unrealistic. I think I would rather see the moon in its captured state, even if it was over exposed. This shot would also look good without the moon in it....
The exposure of the mountain, foreground and sky look good, but the moon looks like a small dark bubble floating in the air about 15 feet from the camera. In a scene like this, the moon would be several stops brighter than the sky. This is what would make it look realistic. When the moon is darker than the sky, it ends up looking very cut and paste.
Nice colors Jameel, I was there in August and got a similar shot just about 20 minutes after sundown and the moon was just above the horizon to the left.
I like your shot
I think the image would be better without the moon. It looks fake. This is a stunning view of Mt. St. Helens. It looks like something from another planet.
This is a beautiful shot with very nice subtle hues. I think once you've worked on the moon a bit this is going to be a wall hanger. It already is without the moon.
