While on a trip had some extra time, so took the 'long way' home using the coastal route along the north eastern England coast. Only live once right? A beautiful rainbow developed and I looked for a place to stop to get a photo, nothing special planned.

The place I found to park had a light house in the distance. As I moved to try to line up the rainbow with the lighthouse it was clear that the sun would set before I had a chance to line them up. So I took off in a sprint down the beach with my camera. I got here just in time, I snapped about 30 shots since I was still shaking a bit from the run and had no tripod hoping it would turn out.

Below is the result. One of those shots I'll never forget.

Dazzling image. The broad rainbow complements the lighthouse perfectly.

This looks like a shot that might benefit from some post-export sharpening for web. Its lovely, but a little fuzzy looking... I suspect that's just a result of the downsize.
