It's the only home the Chinese boat people had.

Yes, cool capture indeed, a true Shugartian gem! Though, if I might be so bold as to make a suggestion, the bottom of the picture doesn't add much value IMHO. My brief attempt at cropping it out seemed promising. What say you?

Yes, the world is very varied , and Hong Kong wasn't the most alien place I traveled- for sure.
I was once on a several-day-long bus journey from Peshewar, Pakistan to Istanbul, Turkey, and saw some REALLY odd things. It was a through bus, however, so I had no time to explore, and I wasn't into photography at the time, so I have few photos of the experience. But some memories remain.
About the crop- I agree. But I hate to lose all those dangling ropes on the lower right, so here's a partial crop.
I do like it better than the original.
