Still making it through my photos from my trip to Oregon. This is the postcard composition of Wahclella Falls, shot late in the evening on a clear summer night. Very peaceful and not another soul on the trail. Thanks for looking!

Very nice image, Steve. You chose an interesting perspective. All my shots of this location were down low along the creek.
Thanks Stan. I saw a similar composition to this on a postcard (or in a book, can't remember). I hiked it the day prior and took a bunch of shots down low along the creek and then returned the following evening to try and get one from higher up. Its a quick scramble up the hill and to the top of a big boulder (where this was taken). I would love to shoot it from here in the fall!
Yep, like Stan when I was there recently I only shot this from lower down. I sure like this higher view of it. Next time I will have to scramble up there and see what I can do.
Nice work on this, and more than a postcard this would make a very nice print!
Nice shot! I think Wahclella is my first shot where I told myself I should really try to do more with photography.
I like the up high perspective as well. That's where my favorite of these falls are from. When waterflow is higher you get a nice seasonal falls coming off that wall to the right.
@Jim / @Justin: Definitely check it out the next time you guys are there. There is no marked trail that leads up to the top of the rock but if you look closely, you should see some tracks.
@TJ: Agreed. Its places like this that always inspire me to take photography more seriously. I have seen a few shots in conditions like you mentioned and I would love to come back in those conditions. Spring would be a good time for this as you would get the upper fall showing in the distance due to the greater water flow.
