Here is a shot of one of my favorite parts of the sky.
This is in the Summer Milky Way in Sagittarius. The bright Nebulas are M8 and M20 - The Lagoon and The Trifid Nebulas respectively.

A stack of 15 images of 3 minutes each. Astro modified Rebel T4i, Sigma 150mm lens @ F/5.6, ISO1600..

Cheers,
Leon

Excellent image of the Lagoon and Trifid. An astro modified DSLR sure brings out the true colors of the universe. Well done!

Great work there! Nice capture and spot on processing! I've got to get out to a dark sky in the summer and capture the Milky Way. For all of my deep sky work, I still don't have a single Milky Way image...

Thanks Klaus, Brad, Alan and Sunny.

Sunny,

this was shot from my observatory on Orange County Astronomers' observing site, located in Anza, CA.

Alan,
attached is a pic of my sky actually looks like. The south is fairly light polluted but useable. The West is useless as you get the light dome from LA.

East, SE, NE and N, are fairly dark (magnitude 5.5+)

Cheers,
Leon
