At the mouth of Resurrection Bay (near Seward) the vertical basalt cliffs are perfect for black-legged kittiwakes to nest.
These tough little pelagic gulls live on the water except during mating season.
The pair shown was one of a larger colony, and has successfully raised a pair of babies (so far the aerial predators (ravens, larger gulls), haven't raided their nest).
