My wife and I spent some time in July in Yellowstone and neighboring Grand Teton. I've seen a lot of great photos from others who have gone there this year as well. Lots of excellent photos, many of which I have enjoyed.

Here in turn are three of my favorites form our trip.

very nice. never tire of seeing this place.
I like the #2 abstract especially.
#1 is losing some cloud detail.

Hi Dave,

You got some cool shots here. I like the detail in #2. Your view in #1 is my favorite, though you do have some green in the sky on both ends, you might want to go back later and clear that color cast from the sky.

Thanks for the feedback.

Grand Prismatic was probably my favorite spot, though there are so many beautiful and interesting locations, it is really hard to be too dogmatic about "favorite".

#1 is a two picture stitch. I don't think either of the originals have that problem in the sky. If it is a green cast, I may be able to take that out in LR. I'm not totally happy with hugin for stitching. Unfortunately, my widest lens is 21mm and it was just a *hair* short of getting the whole Spring in the scene. And "zooming" with your feet can be fatal in Yellowstone.

So, I took a pair of images hoping to stitch later.

I found there were a lot of interesting opportunities for unusual "abstracts" in Yellowstone. It added an another set of shooting opportunities to an already wonderful place to photograph.
