I like the image, Bob.
Perhaps it's too "hot," but to me it's just enough high-key that I think of him as being of light-complexion.
Funny how my opinion of Jack was immediate when you mentioned his pit bull.
In case some don't know: in the US the species is responsible for far more of the serious attacks against people than any other breed- including the dogs' owners and their families.
And because of that potential, the breed is banned from some countries.
Whenever I have a chance to know something about men who own pit bulls, I have strongly suspected that the dog is an extension of their "macho" self-image. And dogs pick up on that very quickly.
Are all pit bulls like that? No.
But the potential is in all their DNA, especially dogs from low-cost "Puppy Mills."
