I just returned from my first trip to Oregon. We spent most of the time along the coast but flew in/out of Portland.

I can't say anything that hasn't been said about the area...spectacular - would be about it. That and NO photo will do the area justice. No offense intended, go see it for yourself.

And my photos may not add anymore than the other beautiful shots you can see here on FM of the beautiful area, but here are two from the many.

Spoiler alert! By scrolling down to the second shot you will see a possibly nauseating shot from the top. It also gives away the fact that we didn't hike miles into the mountains to enjoy this wonder

Yes I feel very fortunate to live a few hours away from that area. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the beauty it had to offer.

Just spent two weeks in that area, third or fourth trip. You learn more places each time, but somehow never see them all,

have they opened the road to the top? It was closed last time I was there.

Road to the top?? I didn't know of a road option. We hiked it. I think it is only a little over a mile...an easy stroll

Many nice views on the way up too.
