The blue color has more impact, not her in the color version. In the BW version, her face dominates. I think that both versions are so-so cmpared to your other recent posts. Your previous pictures were fab and have spoiled me rotten. Especially of Carey.
For me, the jewelry/ornaments/whatever on her head cover/scarf is lost in the color version, but really stand out in the b&w version. So do her dreadlocks and face. So my vote is b&w by a landslide.
Even Paul Newman wore blue contacts .
I really like this image, Bob.
It's so strong that both the color and the B&W conversion work well for me.
I prefer the original version though, because the bright colors of her hat and shirt say so much about the image she is trying to present to the world.
She chose her "costume" very carefully.
