The Itatiaia National Park is one of the largest preserved areas in Brazil. It extends through three states and it's famous for being a paradise for bird watchers and alike. And it's also one of the highest places in the country.

The photos below were taken at a belvedere named "Mirante do Último Adeus" (Last Goodbye's Viewpoint). It's located on the park's border and as you can see, looking at both sides gives very different (although great) views.

Indeed it is. The park contains also one of the country's highest peak, the Pico das Agulhas Negras (Black Needles Peak). Unfortunately I didn't had the oportunity to go there. I think it's time to book up a second visit to the park

How wonderful! You should come again, I believe there's a lot to see after all these years

just wait until the end of the World Cup, as airplane tickets' price will hopefully go down.
