p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Monsoon Madness in AZ

It looked like it was cloudy enough for good light when I got off work today. So, I drove home, grabbed the camera and headed west out of town to one of my favorite spots to try my luck. It paid off big time. Aside from the fear of being struck by lightning, there was a fantastic moment as I stood next to a tree to stay dry while a monsoon rain passed over. I still got pretty soaked, but it was worth it. The next big challenge was keeping water/smudges of the lens. I got some glare from the smudges, but I think I like it. #3 has some definite water drops on the lens that I don't care for, but oh well. Hope you enjoy!

I hope these links work . . .

The first is especially nice. Composition, foreground rocks, sun in the clouds? I really can't say but it is my favorite.
Thanks for sharing. Fiat Lux!

Nice set of storm images. #1 is my pick as well. Though I'd probably crop out the sliver of bright sky at the very top left of the frame.

Nice series. Always carry a cloth (microfiber?) in your pocket for cleaning a lens.

Lovely shots! 3, 2, 1 are my favorites, in that order. I really like the glisten on the wet rocks in 3 and 2. Great use of the trees as a leading line to the lightning in 4.
