Hi there - your daughter is beautiful! What a sweet baby girl!
A few suggestions that I hope you will find helpful....ditch the on board flash. Find a nice window or better yet, head to your garage. I know this sounds odd, but garage light is GORGEOUS. Have your daughter at about a 45 degree angle to your light source (window, opening of garage, etc). Spot meter off of her forehead, and try a few natural light shots. I think you will really like them. If you are struggling with white balance, try taking something white (even a piece of printer paper will do) and photograph it with your daughter in the first shot. That way, you can use the white balance dropper in your raw editing program (LR, ACR, etc) to click on that piece of paper and it will get you very close to a pleasing/correct white balance. I hope this helps!
