The rationalizations for keeping the station going may be stretching things a bit, but if it serves the greater cause- I'm inclined to agree with it.
After all, capturing wild orcas, gorillas, etc and putting them in cages was intrinsically terrible. But it DID eventually lead to conservation measures that helped most species (criminal behaviors being another matter that are rightly condemned).
I was probably biased because of the problems caused by The Eagle Lady in Homer, Alaska, who fed bald eagles in winter, and there were so many eagles that their terrestrial prey species never had a chance to recover.

Sharp, crisp and clear pics Paul.
We have the Black Kites over here in Switzerland and they migrate for the winter. Actually they usually leave early and will probably be going soon.
Do the Red Kites migrate?

The red kites we have here don't migrate, they are around all year. I didn't realise black kites migrated, we don't have them here but I've seen them elsewhere in the world (Hong Kong and Mumbai).
