Something of a rarity- public transportation that wasn't crowded .
The two young ones could tell that I looked "different," and they stared at me.
All the adults knew, of course, but polite behavior in public means not staring at people.

"Way of life" street shooting in Japan from 30 years ago has limited appeal nowadays- so thanks for being one of the few .

This photo reminds me of the time when i was very very young ... I am assuming this was taken sometime around 1970s... and even back then, Japan is much more advanced than other countries in Asia already proven by the fact that they already have street car / trolley ...

I like the cinematic look: one kid in focus and looking at you, and other one out of focus.

1970s is correct- I was still in the beginning stages of a lifetime love of international travel, and still in my B&W photography phase.
I wasn't particularly looking for any kind of "look," though . There was little light so I had to set my lens at nearly wide open in order to get an adequate shutter speed. That of course meant shallow dof .
