jstntym,
(Neat handle.) Everybody has to start somewhere. I think the best way to sell here (or really anywhere) is to be as reasonable, open, and informative as possible. I've had extended email and phone conversations both buying and selling with people getting to the point that we had a measure of one another. I try to keep it simple: price the item reasonably (check both here and feabay) and be willing to bend some. Make the price inclusive: Paypal fee, shipping, insurance, everything. It's always irritating that people say "$XXX net to me." The buyer then has to work out the extra and play around with getting an agreement with the seller. Don't do "gift." It provides no protection for you as the seller and of late PayPal has been tagging gift with fees if it doesn't all come from a PayPal balance. You'll need to be patient. I'm amazed at how quick somethings go and how long others take.
I don't know what health challenges you are facing nor does your profile indicate what type of camera you are shooting with or your area(s) of interest. Looking at the lenses you've listed, I know that with a 16-35 f/2.8, the 24-70 f/2.8 II, and the 70-200 f/4.0 IS you are very close to having what used to be the called the "Holy Trinity" of Canon L lenses. I have other more specialized lenses that are used regularly for specific tasks or jobs, but day in and day out as a working photog my 3 f/2.8 lenses do >85% of the work. Truthfully, there is virtually nothing you can't photograph with these 3 lenses plus any of Canon's more modern cameras. If I were making your choice (and I'm certainly not as I don't know your interests), I'd hang on to the big three and let go of the 17-40 and the 24-105. Macro is sort of a secret vice for me. I don't always have time to indulge it, but love getting real intimate with whatever subject has caught my eye.
If carrying the weight of the equipment is part of your health challenge, you also might consider moving to a smaller format system. My "significant other" wanted to shoot her "birds and bees" and flowers and such. I got her a 60D and she had access to all of my lenses. We finally worked out that she wasn't having that much fun because of the size of the camera and the weight of the lenses. Also the complexity of the system was a steep learning curve.
After some thought and experimentation, I bought her an Olympus EP-3 Pen with a viewfinder, a macro lens, and a Panasonic 40-150 lens. It all fits neatly into a pouch and she probably takes 10 times as many pix as she did with the 60D. While this is a Canon forum, I think we would all agree that Canon is not the only photographic tool of value and for many not even the best one. The entire Micro Four/Thirds world is a viable choice for those needing lighter, smaller, and perhaps simpler equipment.
I have a good photo friend who is also facing real health challenges. His choice was to go mobile (he sold his house and bought a good truck and a nice but not huge trailer) and they are on the road taking pictures of everything they ever wanted to see. It would be wonderful if something like that became an option for you.
Buying and Selling here on FM is a much better environment than fleabay and craigslist. There are even some legendary lenses that 4, 6, maybe even 8 of us have owned as it was a stepping stone up for successive photographers. I can say without reservation that everyone I've dealt with here has been of highest quality. Sure I get the occasional flake who wants something for nothing, but it's obvious that they aren't really part of the community.
Good luck
Robert
