A little assist please. The weekend of the 26th, 27th, and 28th I can travel to either Colorado, Florida or California and spend the time taking pictures. I wanted to do milkyway photography but the mooon will be almost full and up all night so thats a bit of a wash. I know it may still be the end of wildflower season in certain parts of colorado but i dont know if or where. Florida has that nice blue water out in the keys, and California has a lot.
Just wondering what this wonderful community of photogs would suggest.

Hey Jeremy,
I don't know if you are restricted to those 3 states or those were just ones that jumped to your mind. If it were me... I would go to Portland, shoot along the Columbia River Gorge. And for a little mountain scenery, it's a quick jaunt to get nice views of Mt Hood. Or you could fly into SeaTac and go shoot Rainier, I am sure there are still wildflowers around there, though perhaps someone that's up there can confirm that.
Another thought would be to fly to Salt Lake and go shoot the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. There were still tons of wildflowers in the Tetons when I was there a couple of weeks ago. And though you probably don't have time for it Glacier NP would be sweet, there was still a lot of snow in the backcontry when I was there a week ago, so I know by the time you go that snow should be gone and the wildflowers in those areas will be blooming.
Not to deter you from coming to my fine state of California, there are always great photo-ops here. The High Sierra part of Yosemite will have wildflowers. Then there is always the Eastern Sierra with Mono Lake and that whole side of the mountains.

I love Florida, the Keys especially, but I leave every summer. Rain, heat, humidity and chance of storms are the reason. I just spent time in Eastern Sierra and it was very hot there. May have gotten cooler by now. My choice would be Colorado, specifically the San Juans. Should still be wildflowers in the basins above Ouray and Silverton, or above Crested Butte. At any rate, I have always enoyed that area in July, much cooler. I also enjoy driving the old mining trails.
