Hey Fred,

Your views in #2 and #4 are pretty cool. I do wish there was either less or more of the trees framing the shot in #2. As for #1 and 3 that looks like an old plantation mansion. And while we often have people posting shots of old houses and buildings, perhaps because there are still a thousand houses looking just like that in Beverly Hills, those two don't really feel like Landscapes. Not always, but most of the time we try to avoid manmade structures when shooting landscape shots.

Thanks Jim
I could have cloned the tree out of #2
Of course the home in #1 was built before California was a state, and the hanging moss on the 200 year old live oak is a typically southeastern coastal phenomenon.
Quite a few movies are actually shot in Beaufort because of cheap labor, and the fact that, when you avoid the telephone and power lines, it looks much the same as it did 200 years ago.
Thanks again for your input.

Fred, I like your shots, including those of the old houses. In fact, last time there, I met the folks who live in #3 and had a good visit with them. I may even have a shot of their house in my files. Beaufort is a great old Southern town, and the ante-bellum homes are special, I think.

Thanks Stan
That area of Beaufort is called "the point"' and a charming, lush area with beautiful old homes.
The city was founded in 1733
