Well that is in Wild Goose Island! Another shot from a few weeks ago up in Glacier National Park. I ended up sacrificing a steak to get this shot, but in the end the two jelly sandwiches were worth it... I kept this one a bit darker in keeping with the feel of sunset, and tried not to crank the contrast too much, the sun was no longer directly lighting the scene, so I hope the level of contrast matches that.

Now as to my jelly sandwiches, you can read more about it and see a 2nd shot I had to run like a jackrabbit to get in my blog.

Great shot, never tried here at sunset you have some outstanding foreground detail for an into the light shot. I liked the other shot and the story too. I have been down that trail looking for a comp at sunrise.

Amazing light Jim! Definitely, well worth giving a steak up for. You can have a steak any day but special light like this makes the sandwiches taste that much better. Your processing on this one looks spot on to me. Great work!

That's some pretty killer light! I think you were a bit to conservative with the contrast though. If this was mine, I would darken the mid-tones a bit, and kick up the contrast. I feel like those mountains and sky need some richer tones. The light in this scene is very authentic, so don't be afraid to give this image some wonderful dark pixels.

What fantastic light and color. Beautiful photo.
The only thing that bugs me a little is that dark, high contrast, tiny island right in the middle; it really draws my attention. But that's a small thing.

What else can I say besides just beautiful!! Very nice light in the foreground, great drama in the sky and excellent detail in the mountains. Magnificent!

Looks like some amazing conditions. Those clouds are glowing like mad! I would like to see more detail/contrast in the far mountains though, but at print sizes the detail is probably there anyways. Thats only a minor personal preference though.

One big thing for me is the brightness of the water reflection. It is at least a half stop brighter (maybe more) then the sky. Once reduced, you should print it

Thanks so much Ben. Yeah it is a cool area down there. I didn't have much time for exploring obviously...

But next time I hope to get down there a bit earlier to scout out a few different compositions with that pond.
