I did a quick one night trip to 20 Lakes Basin in the Sierra a few weeks ago. There was a fantastic sunset and some perfect reflections the next morning. All 3 of these were taken with the Canon 17/4 TS-E. C&C welcome. Thanks for looking!

I really like the color of the first two, but I think the third has the most solid composition. I like the way you've captured the beautiful light in a very natural yet vivid way. You have done a great job capturing the scale of the location, and portraying the calm feeling of watching the sunrise in person.

Nice imaging, great conditions.

Side note: The mountain range is the Sierra Nevada, often shortened to 'the Sierra'. It is never pluralized as in Sierras. It is only one mountain range, the Sierra.

Hey Lukas,

What a super cool set of shots. #1 is my favorite, the light in the clouds is just amazing. I was planning on backpacking in the Ansel Adams Wilderness and up to 1000 Island Lake area in a few weeks. I may have to tag on a few days and hit 20 Lake Basin too.

Where did you get your Wilderness permit from? What waterfall is in #1? Going to Lundy Canyon?

We got the permit from the Mono Basin Visitor Center. The waterfall is the outlet from Cascade Lake. We didn't go to Lundy this time. I've been there before though and it's a fantastic place.
