The first one being a slight favorite because I think damsel-flies eat mosquitoes.

Thank you Charlie. Damsels eat lots of mosquitoes. I am always cheering them on, and wish they had more capacity to eat.

I think your hover fly is part of the Ocyptamus group , not positive at all but might be Ocyptamus lemur
