This 22 and the higherend EOS M could be a potent combo if it comes with the 70D sensor.

Decision time, whether to let X100 going back to market and pick EOS-M or keep X100..

I would only keep the X100 if the EVF or Optical VF is important to you. The Fuji also has better JPGs and a better control dial but a hopelessly flawed EC dial.

Otherwise, the EOS-M has better AF, better MF, a bigger and much better screen, faster and more reliable AF, interchangeable lenses, Canon EF-S compatibility with quickish AF, 6 more MPX. It's also significantly smaller. I can throw the EOS-M with 22mm in my gf's bag without any protest. No hope of that with the X100. If you can live with the shot to shot delay and big AF boxes and no flip screen, it's not bad.

And I'm going to say it: the Canon 22mm F2 is better than the Fuji 24mm F2. . I've shot with the X100 a lot and the lens just doesn't have this level of micro contrast and edge to edge sharpness at F2.8.

Getting mine in an hour or so. Hey Fly, have you used any other ef/ef-s lenses on but yet? I'm looking forward to using both my CY 50 1.4 and 80-200 on it. I bought the Rainbow adapter from Amazon to see if it works(well, obviously not with the cy's!)...

I HATE to admit it, but the touch screen focus and release is kind of addictive.

Just going by forum reports and Roger from Lens Rental Blog.

There actually aren't any Canon lenses I particularly want to use in APS-C except maybe their UWA zoom.

Thanks.. this really helped... How about high ISO results...

Overall sharpness in not a big factor. I am OK with results.... With EOS-M, I am really going to miss high speed flash sync...
Dont want unacceptable high ISO results... I never able to use EVF that much (I found that not that usable with glasses.. Plus, its good to have, not a deal breaker)... Never capture jpeg (bad habit ). Plus EC dial was never an issue as I use Thumb rest which covers that...

In the end, it all about results and value for money.. The way, Fuji is throwing cheap cameras, its just matter of time we are going to see sub $350 X100 within a year..

Thanks, just a shadow boost, blacks boost, a bit contrast... I did oversharpen, must dial it down a bit.

Been playing with mine for about a week. I notice that colors tend to be a bit more saturated and 'cooked' looking compared to 5DIII, need to pull saturation of red/magenta down more than usual, and greens tend to have more blue in them. Still trying to find the right adjustment for that one.

Overall, though, it's a nice little package, worth the $299.

Yes, quite the same level of Canon colors as the Rebels.

My wife and I went for a hike last week, I had the 5DIII + ZE 35/2, she had the M + 22/2. She shot in generic 'Landscape' mode, just to see how it fared. Blegh.

Neutral + RAW from now on...

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but it looks like Canon has discontinued the Canon M. Even B&H are refunding unshipped orders...
