I wanted to test out my Rokinon 85 f/1.4 and of course, my son tends to be my subject. I really like this lens for the price even though its manual focus. These pictures represent three of the many things that are important to a 4 yr old boy (getting dirty, monster trucks and super heroes!). C&C welcome as always, just some slight adjustments in LR4, white balance and cropping. I'm learning back yard style as I don't have time for proper photography or post production classes.

Nice photos. I'm curious why you used ISO 200 and +0.7 EV with a high shutter speed of 1/320 and 1/500?

I was using aperture priority because I wanted a shallow depth of field. I know I should be practicing with manual mode but I don't really know the proper settings for situations. I guessed with ISO 200, I guess it could've been lower? I really want to classes for the basics and some more advanced technics, maybe I'll have time someday. I'm more trial and error at this point, even though it seems more error now, lol. I still enjoy it!

I really like the Rokinon, though, I noticed it had quite a bit of flare without a hood on and the sun shining on it at an angle.
