I decided to give the supermoon a farming Australian flavour. I had to find a windmill, some bush in front of it as well as I had to be able to get back as far as I could from the windmill, say 1.3km as recommended. I got the windmill, the bush but I was limited to how far I could get back. However I was happy with the result that I achieved. I also use the iPhone compass and app sky view to locate the exact location of the moon rise.

Taken with Canon 1dx and 800mm lens

That's a good shot. Love to see the moon in context with other objects.

It seems like a lot of planning went into this. I'm glad everything turned out as expected! Congrats on getting this in the local paper, too.
