Howdy,
I've had the CamRanger for one week. I find that it functions perfectly.
There are numerous times when I've wanted to have "non-tethered" complete control of my camera. This unit does that and much much more. Sure, there are other alternatives, like camo or a hide, hard wire tethering or RF for snapping a photo, or Canon's EOS utility. Each have their negatives.
The utilization of the CamRanger is only limited to one's imagination. I plan on using this system for close-up, landscape, animal portraits, astrophotography, and when the placement of the camera is difficult.
The following photos were taken using the CamRanger to control all functions of the camera. Presently, flash settings cannot be adjusted. The first two photos were what was seen within the framing of the camera. The second two are merely crops of the first two. The squirrel shot was taken in our gathering room while the camera was on the deck. The Dove shot was taken while on the treadmill - Boring!
Etc., etc., etc.,
Cheers,
Larry
