p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A Woman and a Chopper

Hey all,
A follow up to my last post.
I didn't get everything I wanted as the model was late and the weather was cold. Once the weather gets a bit better we will shoot again, hopefully in an underground car park. I have access to another chopper but green in color so hopefully that works out,

In the mean time these are what we ended up with.

1
A smoke free version of the other i posted

2
I wanted this pose to be better but the bike wasn't easy to lay on.

Hey Bud, nice to see the full set here.

No. 1 rocks without the smoke. I don't like the smoke in any of these shots, they just look out of place. It doesn't look natural. Maybe it's just me?

Agree with you about the pose on 2. Too bad she couldn't do something more with her back/right leg.

As for No. 6, because of the part in her hair, I would have flipped the lights around from the way you did them. That would have eliminated the spilled light from the light camera-right that hits her left forehand and high on her left cheek. The way her hair falls, it would have blocked that. And then you wouldn't have the shadow going over her right eye. One more note on the shot: black/dark bike, black outfit on model, means you need a lighter background so it doesn't all get lost. The differences can be subtle, like look at the difference in lighting on the BG in 9 and 10.

I really like 8. And 10, as a low-key shot, is really nice. 9 would've really rocked but her missing right arm bothers me. Again, probably not someone else. Lots of good stuff here.

I agree with everything firscoron said and I would also add that there is a string on her thigh that should be cloned out. Also #4 should be tossed. Its a nicely lit shot, but the pose makes her look huge. Also because the background is so dark you lose separation from her shoes. A nice little rim light would have helped with that. Great photos otherwise!

#9 looks very awkward because of her right arm missing. I also have a hard time with the black BG, black bike and black outfit. A rim light and or different BG would really helped. The smoke does seem out of place to me but that is a personal thing.

Overall, very nice set!

Hey mate,
Thanks for taking a look.
That bloody string was in all the photos I removed it in post but must have missed that one.

Hey Tyler.
In wanting to concentrate on the model and bike maybe I went too far in post. The background is actually pretty light but the post work darkened it more. Also conversion for web hasn't helped the images. On my main editing PC which is calibrated I can see all the detail in the brick work behind her. I'll post an image later tonight that's worked on less.
Regards
Bud
