Went out late afternoon before sunset. Almost missed this guy as he moved between the water plants. I have never seen a tricolored hunt with such wing and neck movement.
Not as showy as a reddish egret, but still a lot of fun to watch.

Last shot is just for fun . I love reflections

Wonderful poses, Birdie, and great light. It looks a bit as though you have tried to de-emphasize the background in post (with changes to the exposure, clarity, and sharpness). If so, you might consider expanding those areas even more. In the first shot, for example, the area immediately underneath the body and right wing might benefit from the same sort of treatment applied to the left side of the image. And, in the second shot, the lower left quadrant might benefit from the same treatment applied to the right side of the image.

Wonderful intensity to these images; thanks for sharing.

I like the opening shot a lot and the reflection in the last is a very cool bonus.
