Both are nice BB, but look a little hot on my monitor. I think you could reduce the exposure and/or reduce the yellows ~ Ron

Nice work BB. #1 for me too. I'm with Ron on the yellow. Without seeing the flower in person it can be hard to judge, but it looks too richly yellow.

I like the detail, your processing is a bit heavy handed for my taste BB

BeeBalm,
First- two really enjoyable and beautiful images.
Here's my (barely) $.02 worth:
Having a black background for flower studies does things to me that I don't quite understand, and that I suspect I don't like (is that vague enough ?)
For one thing, it says "not a natural setting," but I don't even know if that's a good thing or a bad thing
I suspect also that such a severe background exaggerates the perceived richness of the flowers' colors (is that good? Or bad?)
Just thinking out loud I guess. Must be time for a nap .

I sure did enjoy that first shot, BeeBalm. Glad they just started to bloom. I'm enjoying the backgrounds, also.

Very nice. You lost some of the detals in yellow especially in #2.

Hi Charlie,
I agree with you. My black background makes my
yellow flowers look more yellow than they really are.
My next flowers I will leave a little more green in the background!
Thank you very much for visiting and posting!
