There are many similar "ponds/lakes" along the length of the Alaska Highway.
There were many more before they finally paved the Canadian section of it- and that was mostly when I traveled the wilderness road.
This pond/lake was up near the Alaska border- about 20-30 miles south of Beaver Creek community, and a few feet away from the road- on the west side.
The Alcan may be paved now (a good thing- trust me), but it's still an adventure highway through the wilderness.
My basic scenery-shooting gear was/is: two very old Canon A series film bodies- one with a 24mm-70mm zoom, and the other with a 70mm-210mm zoom (both zooms were Vivitar Series-1). I always used "manual" operation.
I also used a newer Canon with a 400mm non-zoom for wildlife shooting. I used the motor drive and auto everything because of the time factor shooting animals.
Slide film for everything- mostly Kodachrome 64 or Ektachrome VS100.
