I am not sure if the effect really fits this scene. I am none to keen on the gritty look but some areas like the lower left corner just don't seem to work at all. The bottom right doesn't work very well either. Maybe just crop off the bottom third?
Not working for me. It may be partly the composition.
The scene feels a it chaotic and its hard to make sense of the lower left corner, although I can tell its a fencepost.
When I crop out most of the bottom half I can appreciate the image better. But the style just isnt doing it for me.
Maybe applied to an antique, rusted car?

If the post in the lower left was in focus it might work, but it is distracting and I can't tell at first what it is. I think the HDR would work with a different composition
Thought I'd go on a fishing expedition - your responses confirmed my first impressions (prior to the HDR treatment) - back to the trash bin! Although, may prove useful at some future time as a composite layer/wash.
One of those wanna, coulda, shoulda, but missed the mark by a long shot images
