My first trip to Zion and hopefully I get to go back to this wonderful place. The East Plateau is full of really cool formations and I wish I had more time to explore all the smaller side valleys.
Zion is an interesting place. I like your composition, but I think it would still be better had you not let the sky blow out on the left side. Along with the blown out area, there is some banding with the cyan as it darkens from that area.
I love that tree and you have a very good shot here (one of the better images I have seen from this location) .
My only question is the use of hoodoo to describe it. I am not trying to be overly picky with the name but if that usage for this image is right I would like to correct my definition. My understanding is that a hoodoo tends to be rather narrow or spire in form and usually has a resistant cap rock. It seems to me that this formation is more accurately an erosional remanent but without the normal shape or cap rock that I associate with a hoodoo..
