My wife and I are heading to Maine for a week to just see something new. We have never been there. We are going back and forth between Bar Harbor or Moosehead Lake areas. No special reason just based on property availability and advice form people we know who have been there.

My question is for those who have been there or live there if we want to see a lot of wildlife and do a lot of wildlife photography which area would you reccomend?

I am more familiar with Yellowstone and surrounding areas from past experience but live in PA. and I was not sure if Maine would or could be similar in certrain areas or if there were some areas better than others.

Your advice is GREATLY appreciated.

My wife and I are heading to Bar Harbor this month. We've never been there either. I shoot more landscape than wildlife. Later. TD

I'd have thought a Puffin tour and maybe some whale watching may be your best bet. There's spectacular wildlife in Maine but the woods are thick and dense and marshy. You could spend a lot of time looking and not a lot of time finding if you went to say Baxter.

Acadia is a lovely place and stunning for landscapes if the weather cooperates or even doesn't.
