Been a while since I've shot anything I've been satisfied with, and been a lot longer since I've posted anything on FM. So I figure what with everyone staying away from Flickr like the plague right now due to their poorly though out recent changes, this would be a good time to get back in the game over here. I spent almost the whole week before Memorial Day weekend in Yosemite, after making the 920-mile drive from Seattle in one day (and yes, it sucked). Unfortunately the conditions weren't quite as ripe as I hoped they would be - clear, sunny (and hot) skies across the board - very few clouds ever materialized and when they did it was always mid-afternoon and then disappearing before sunset. The big waterfalls were running well, but the smaller ones were all pretty close to done due to the lower than normal snowpack, and the flowers were all pretty much done. Except in this area of El Capitan Meadow right next to the climber's parking strip for El Cap. There were a whole bunch of white Irises in the meadow, and though most were past prime I managed to find a clump that looked pretty viable still. But of course the wind had to come up and make it way more difficult than it should have been to shoot.
Technicals - four shots blended for depth of field, ranging from ISO 100 to 800, and 1/80s to 1/8s to deal with movement from the wind. All shot at 20mm, Nikon D600 + 16-35 @ f/8.
