I wish I would have gotten to this spot earlier and caught the actual sunrise but as it was we left the house at 3:30 AM to get to this spot about 8:00 AM. I wasn't actually aiming for this spot but as I drove up on it I couldn't help but stop and take a picture.

This is Molas Lake along US 550 between Durango and Silverton Colorado.

I'm very familiar with this lake, and it's hard to get there early. Anyway, I love the right 2/3 of the scene, the left 1/3 doesn't add much for me.

Hey Kevin,

A very nice reflection shot. Sunrise there would have been cool. I was out at that lake last fall as I was exploring, that's a cool area there.

Hadn't been there - or even thought about the place - in nearly 40 years (like 39, to be exact).

Thanks for the post, brings back neat memories of my summers as a forest aide with the USFS during college.
