These are fantastic. Scott now you have me second guessing myself that maybe I should have come out in early June with so much snow on Mt Rundle.
Are these from the picnic area?
I think I like 3 best, but 4 is a close second ...
Don
3 is right beside the picnic table standing in the water.
It is very pretty now but:
1) June is our rainy month
2) Moraine Lake is not open yet - or it was not this weekend
3) Bow Lake still had ice on it last week
4) The trails aside from Minniwanka are mostly snowed in.
5) Common loons have not yet hatched the babies
6) Kananaskis highwood pass does not open to Jun 15
On the other hand:
1) Bears are low down and hungry
2) Moose calves will be just out
3) Dandelions are out so there will be black bears and more black bears.... on Kootenay Highway
There is no bad time.
Now = Bears, no hiking
July=Hiking, Wildlflowers
Aug=Best weather, hiking
September = Best Color
