Tucked away on a smidgeon of an island in an isolated Northern Michigan Lake, this Loon sits on a pair of eggs. Hopefully its "treasure" is safe and secure in this hidden and isolated location.
This small opening is facing open water. The nearest shore is behind the loon, so she(?) is virtually invisible from the shore. If I move left or right a few feet I can't see her anymore. If I were to approach closer the loon would flatten out on the ground and become almost invisible. I kept my distance (~100 ft). I did not want to frighten her off the nest.
