I note that user reviews of this lens on B&H are fewer than I would have expected by now. Does anyone who has it want to comment? I'm especially interested in hearing more about color and contrast. How do those compare to the newer high-end zooms?

I own the 35mm f2 IS and the 24-70 mkII. A couple of of test-pictures can be found here:

Personally, I find the new 24-70 so good, that I only rarely find the need (or excuse) to grab the 35mm anymore, though there are scenario where the little lens wins over the zoom: Low light, nightscapes, when hand-holding or when shooting close-ups (at 35mm the max mag of the zoom is pathetic). Also the fixed focal length lens vignettes much less (at f2.8) and has much less distortion, but most of the time, these things are easy to fix in post.
