Looks like dumont dunes -- but hard to tell dunes apart sometimes.

Hey Jim,

Nice work on these. Very artistic in your processing. And the compositions really play with the sense of scale in these which adds some interest to the shots too. Very nice shots to pull out of the archives.

The second is very different interpretation from DV dunes we normally see. I really like your take on this.

The second does kind of look like a T/S "miniature, but it's compression at work. Both shots focus stacks at 400mm/f5.6. Thanks,

Good thinking with the focus stacking. I always think to focus stack with macro or wide angle, but for some reason Ive never seen anyone do it with a telephoto. #1 is definitely my favourite here. The grain in #2 is a bit to much for me though.
